Job description


The role is to ensure the delivery of efficient end user support services in alignment with the business objectives. The person will provide technical expertise and undertake ownership for a leadership guidance to the outsourced vendors on the on-going operation support on IT infrastructure, end user computing and meeting room facilities.

Specific responsibilities of the Assistant Manager, IT Operations include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Operation Efficiency: Assist to manage the daily IT operation and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of EUC computer systems, related applications, hardware and software to support business operation and growth.
  • ITSM Responsibility: Ensure that IT operations activities are tracked in ITSM Platform which include and not limited to Incident, Change, Problem, Configuration and Release Management. Responsible for IT hardware and software asset lifecycle management, Inventory Management, Software Package Distribution, Software/System Patching, Version Upgrade, and Software License Review.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in implementing and finetuning IT Standard Operating Procedures to enhancing existing procedures.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Planning and managing IT budgets, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Technology Updates: Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the IT Industry. Together with the knowledge from emerging technologies and technical competency, make recommendations to the organisation

Job requirements

  • Degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in managing IT operations
  • At least complete 1 cycle of external audit remediation
  • ITIL certified in IT Service Management or Service Delivery
  • Other IT certifications are a bonus

  • Extensive experience in managing and monitoring IT operations supported by outsourced vendors.
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Networking.
  • Good troubleshooting skill in End User Computing Environment.
  • Experience in using ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platform.
  • Good understanding of ITIL in IT Operation Management
  • Engagement capabilities to manage stakeholder and internal and/ or external partners.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively to manage operational activities in a dynamic environment
  • Result oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to ensure the progression for operational issues/projects.
  • An excellent command of both spoken and written English
