Maritime Asset Management

  • Review and recommend initiatives to improve/monitor ongoing operating performance of our maritime assets by financial/operational analysis and working closely with maritime business units.
  • Review operating and capital expenditure plans and budgets.
  • Manage annual valuation process by coordinating with independent valuers and internal stakeholders.
  • Special projects as required.

Maritime Investment

  • Perform market research, competitive analysis and routine market reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new investment in maritime assets (including the public market).
  • Negotiate and execute in the acquisition and disposition maritime assets. Co-ordinate across both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and review financial models and projections to support investment decision making (including preparation of investment/divestment papers).

For this unique opportunity, we are looking for a person who works well in a lean and entrepreneurial team, someone who is a meticulous, self-starter, resourceful and can work independently. The successful candidate should have the following profile:

  • Degree in Maritime Studies, Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Business or any relevant disciplines with 4 - 7 years of experience in maritime/commodities commercial preferred. Otherwise, keen interest in maritime industry can be considered.
  • Good understanding of macroeconomics, as well as financial, freight, and commodity markets
  • Good understanding of financial statements and valuation methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills including expertise in using Excel to build financial models
  • Knowledge of programming for data piping, cleaning, and transformation would be helpful (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
  • Ability to conduct research by assimilating large, ambiguous, and unstructured data to identify key issues, independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to articulate ideas and views in clear and succinct manner, in writing, presentations, and/or various data visualisation tools
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a team-oriented environment
