Job description

  • Report directly to the HSEQA Manager
  • Develop and implement HSEQA (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) related programs and procedures for compliance and to address industry standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain project Health, Safety, Security and Environment plan and other project-related documents.
  • Lead the internal (ISM, ISPS, MLC and ISO) vessel audit per the management system requirements, OVID and IMCA requirements.
  • Assist in the internal Office audit per the management system requirement and Client/charterers requirements.
  • Lead the Risk Assessment / HAZID workshop for Project HSE requirements.
  • Lead and engage with the investigation team in accident/incident/near miss investigation and nonconformity.
  • Lead, promote and participate in HSE initiatives onboard and ashore.
  • Conduct safety induction to joining crew and train ship crew as per Safety Management System
  • Maintain vessel and office HSE records for compliance requirements.
  • Support the HSEQA Dept in training facilitation, audits, and on-site inspections.
  • Join vessels for short voyages to conduct audits, Inspections or training.
  • Deployable for short-term overseas shore or vessel posting.

Job requirements

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of marine and/or offshore operations, project HSE management, relevant legislation and class rules – with Class 1 or 2.
  • Relevant experience in shipboard management, health, safety and environmental protection
  • Experience in developing Project Documents – Good in Business English and writing reports
  • Experience in handling offshore project HSE execution
  • Experience with OCIMF (OVID & OVMSA) and IMCA requirements
  • Experience with MODU Code
  • Experience working with Brunei Shell as an HSE focal point who have experience handling Safety Case, EPMO, etc


Education and key certifications necessary

  • Deck Officer Experience / Offshore Experience
  • Preferably seafarer and holding a Certificate of Competency of Deck – DP experience will be an added advantage
  • Recognition of sound experience in place of formal qualifications may be acceptable
  • Internal auditor certification for ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation
