Job description

Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy, Planning and Leadership
1. Play a pivotal role in shaping our tax strategy for a diverse range of business, including Real Estate (e.g. Data centre, Retail, Residential), Maritime and Investments.
2. Provide leadership on tax implications for business transactions, including tenders, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring activities.
3. Stay abreast of international tax developments, including BEPS 2.0, and assess their potential impact on the company's global tax position.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
1. Manage requisite periodic tax filings with various tax authorities, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
2. Manage tax audits, ensuring transparency and cooperation.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with the business to integrate tax considerations into strategic decision-making processes.
Provide tax guidance and support for new business initiatives and expansion into new markets.
Collaborate with external advisors and consultants to leverage specialized expertise and optimize tax outcomes.
Work effectively with colleagues across the group, tax advisors and service providers to promote collaboration and resolve issues.

Job requirements

Degree or Postgraduate degree in Accountancy and/or related major.
At least 12 to 15 years of international tax and relevant tax experience, preferably in a multinational corporation or reputable professional services firm.
Familiarity and practical experience in key ASEAN countries’ taxation will be an advantage.
Strong technical knowledge, including international tax principles and understanding of transfer pricing.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to diverse stakeholders to support decision-making at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
