Job description

POSH is looking for a Diving Package Manager to manage and execute the subsea and diving construction scopes on a project.

This role is based in Singapore with travels to India / Saudi Arabia as and when required depending on project execution phase.

The role reports directly to the Project Manager on a specific project and works closely with other members of the Project Management Team (PMT) on a day to day basis, such as SURF Package Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Operations Manager, Project Controls Manager and Contracts Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the diving package scope preparation and execution for the Project. The scope of this package broadly includes all diving related operations including installation of subsea spools, risers and J-tubes with subsea clamps, all subsea tie-ins for flexibles, umbilical and pipelines, pre and post lay intervention works etc.
  • Accountable for the safe and timely preparation and execution of the project diving and subsea work scope, in adherence with project HSEQ safety targets, procedures and practices
  • Manage/attend project HAZID's / Risk Assessments / Constructability Workshops
  • Responsible for the interfaces with all the related disciplines within project / POSH Group, major vendors, installation marine spread and Client in order to ensure that the preparation is meticulously and comprehensively carried out.
  • Provide diving and subsea installation input to the project plans and schedules. Verify durations in Project Schedule relative to package
  • To assist in maintenance of the project budget through diligence and utilisation of efficient and working practices
  • Review and approve installation procedures - ensure compliance with project standards, specifications and procedures
  • Actively participate in all company and project safety initiatives
  • Monitor and report installation progress on a regular basis
  • Define the materials or services to be purchased / subcontracted for offshore execution within the allocated resource budget, in conjunction with the team.
  • Within project constraints, manage an operational segment of Engineering or Construction by directing, developing, communicating and implementing the company's direction and strategic goals.
  • Oversee production of installation deliverables, which may include engineering support to design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
  • Ensure project fitness-for-purpose, legislative compliance and adherence to project budget & schedule.
  • Assess manpower requirements to execute package efficiently and obtain alignment from Project Manager on package resource plan. Monitor headcount throughout execution and communicate changes to PM//PCM promptly
  • Identify marine spread requirements necessary to support package work scope and communicate requirements to PM, POM, and Project Planner for consolidation in Project Schedules
  • Ensure adequate supervision and representation from the package team at site / in Kingdom during the execution phase of the project (Generally Package Manager or delegate shall be required onshore in KSA to address client engagement requirements)
  • Interface with Project Manager and Project Control Manager to check the budget available is sufficient to provide allocation for own scope PRs
  • Interface with Project Operations Manager to assure that all the procedures are up to date and readiness of diving package on time for the offshore operations
  • Interface with Project Control Manager to check the monthly PSR base schedule has correctly captured the necessary resources allocated mob/demob and utilization length.
  • Monitor the progress of the works together with Project Control Manager to issue earlier warning for possible overrun of budget
  • Take acknowledgment of the budget provided for tasks under own responsibility and aim to achieve the delivery of own tasks within such budget.
  • Identify all and any potential changes in the scope of work that may give rise to a Variation and notify the Contracts team as quickly as possible with as much detail as possible.
  • Maintain input to Project Risk Register – provide input on technical and safety risks relating to diving package
  • Identify project resource requirements and liaise with Corporate Engineering Manager to ensure availability and allocation.
  • Promote and facilitate project team awareness of company QA and HSE procedures.
  • Manage internal and external engineering interfaces. Develop and maintain interface register.

Job requirements

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or diving is preferred, but not mandatory. Equivalent industry experience may also be considered.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in offshore diving operations, including 5 years in a management role.
  • Relevant experience working on previous EPCI or T&I offshore construction projects is preferred
  • Previous track record of working on Saudi Aramco LTA Projects of similar scopes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Must have a good understanding of diving operations including DSV and diving spreads, diving techniques, and procedures, as well as relevant diving regulations and standards. Knowledge of project management principles and practices is also required.
  • Skills: Must possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Other requirements: Must be willing to travel as and when required throughout various project phases.
