Job description
Develop and execute detailed Testing and Commissioning (T&C) plans and procedures for:
Low and medium voltage switchgear
Motor control centers (MCC)
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
HVAC systems
Fire and gas detection systems
Lighting and small power
Control and instrumentation interfaces
Oversee pre-commissioning activities, including:
Inspection and verification of equipment installation
Continuity and insulation resistance testing
Functional checks
Loop checks and interlock testing
Plan and supervise energization sequences in compliance with project safety standards and permit systems.
Liaise with project teams, vendors, and offshore operations personnel to align priorities and resolve technical issues.
Ensure all commissioning records, check sheets, and test reports are properly documented and approved.
Lead troubleshooting and rectification of defects during commissioning and early operation.
Enforce strict adherence to offshore safety procedures, isolations, and PTW requirements.
Provide progress reporting and status updates to project management.
Support training and handover to the client operations team.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in Testing & Commissioning of electrical systems in:
Offshore platforms
FPSOs
Oil & gas process facilities
Demonstrated expertise in:
Switchgear and MCC commissioning
Protection relay testing
UPS and battery systems
Control system interfaces (DCS/ESD/F&G)
Valid offshore survival certification (e.g., BOSIET)
Familiarity with relevant standards:
IEC 61892 (Offshore Installations)
API RP 14F
ATEX / IECEx
Electrical area classification and hazardous area practices
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience working with packaged E-House vendors and FAT coordination
Exposure to dynamic commissioning and start-up phases of large offshore projects
