Develop, provide technical and administrative direction on HSEQA.

Job description

  • Develop, provide technical and administrative direction on all HSEQA decisions, which bear critical importance to overall company objectives, operations, and profitability.

  • Take the lead in coaching and mentoring our stakeholder HSE strategies and activities that allow and encourage a safety obsessed culture.

  • Be accountable for driving through HSE governance processes including, HSE audits, incident investigation and management reviews.

  • To ensure environmental, health, quality and safety targets at relevant functions and levels are well documented.

  • Establish annual goals and objectives and to motivate the ship and shore staff to meet them. The objectives and targets are measurable where practicable and consistent with the company HSE policy.

  • Conduct annual review of the company objectives and targets and provide input to Group HSEQA accordingly.

  • Promote and drive high level of HSE culture among the vessels and shore team consistent with Company values and Industry best practices.

  • Develop, implement and maintain project Health, Safety, Security and Environment plan and other project-related documents as required by Contract.

  • Carry out internal (ISM, ISPS and ISO) vessel audits in accordance with the management system requirements.

  • Carry out an internal Office audit in accordance with the management system requirement and Client/charterers' requirements

  • Lead the Risk Assessment / HAZID workshop for Project HSE requirements 

  • Lead and engage with the investigation team in accident/incident investigation and nonconformity

  • Lead, promote and participate in HSE initiatives & Campaigns onboard and ashore.

  • Maintain vessel and office HSE records for compliance requirement

  • Support the Group HSEQA in carrying out training, audits and inspections onboard and ashore

  • To develop in-house safety training programs and ensure implementation across all the departments

  • Join vessels for short voyages to conduct audits, Inspections or training and promote Safety Culture onboard.

  • Deployable for short-term overseas shore or vessel posting

  • Act as the focal point for all HSE matters related to Petrobras contracts and projects.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Brazilian HSE regulations (e.g., applicable NRs) and ensure implementation across all operational areas.

  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with Petrobras and local authorities

Job requirements

  • Deck Officer Experience / Offshore Experience or, Safety Engineering, HSEQ Management or related area;

  • Preferably with sailing experience and holding a Certificate of Competency of Deck/Engine

  • Recognition of sound experience in place of formal qualifications may be acceptable

  • Internal auditor certification for ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001/14001/45001

  • Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation

  • Knowledge of human factors approach to improve Safety and vessel overall performance

    Good to Have

  • Knowledge of marine and/or offshore operations, project HSE management, relevant legislation and class rules

  • Relevant experience in shipboard management, health, safety and environmental protection

  • Experience in handling offshore HSE project execution more than 08 years;

  • Proven experience working on Petrobras projects and familiarity with Petrobras documentation and HSE interface requirements.

  • Preferably experience with MODU Code.
