Job description

Contract Management

  • Develop a strong understanding of the contract with Client to be able to provide sound advice and robust support to the Project Manager on all aspects over the entire project lifecycle - involvement starts from contract negotiation during the tender stage to contract administration during execution / performance and eventually completion and payment.
  • Organize and conduct contract familiarization workshops for the entire PMT to ensure all members are aligned on the Project’s contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor contract performance against contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and managing change requests and disputes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with Project Manager to track project milestones / payment stages verify claims / Vos and prepare potential Change Orders to Client from a contractual perspective.
  • Anticipate any likely issues (eg delays) or disputes that may arise in the project and discuss with Legal to work out appropriate strategy to resolve or mitigate the impact of such issues / disputes. Manage contractual claims, disputes, settlements and resolution.
  • Support the procurement and subcontracting teams with developing of key flow downs and critical terms from the main contract into the subcontracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Where required support the development of frame agreements for strategic suppliers / subcontractors for better pricing and delivery lead times.
  • Proactively engage in continuous improvement and review of existing processes, systems and policies that may support the project’s contract management and administration.
  • Providing guidance and training to project teams on contract management processes and procedures.

Risk Management

  • Enhance governance of internal processes to identify potential challenges or problems before they occur during projects execution; contracts administration, cost management etc.

Job requirements

Educational Qualifications Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 8 years in similar contract management position in shipping/marine industry, preferably familiar with offshore oil and gas industry
  • Familiar with what the project entails e.g. VO, notice periods, cost management including subcontractors.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant contracts and contractual laws
  • Ability to analyze issues and has a keen eye for details
  • Professional with high integrity and credibility
