This position is for PaxOcean Group, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited.
Working Location: We will be relocating to 5 Jalan Samulun in November 2025 (nearest MRT: Boon Lay)
Position Summary
Engineering Project Management. The Project Engineer would be responsible for coordinating meetings with the Client and other key stakeholders of the project. He/She would be in-charge of execution of engineering project works in accordance with the Project`s Technical Specification and provide the necessary engineering support to ensure timely delivery of the drawings in good quality and within budget.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations. Monitor project progress, track milestones and proactively identify risks or delays, reporting these to the Project Manager.
Effectively participate in meetings with Clients, external designers, suppliers and internal teams. Prepare and distribute minutes of meetings and draft timely project status reports for various stakeholders.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding processes—including ship design, construction methods, naval architecture, and marine engineering principles—to oversee and coordinate various aspects of shipbuilding projects.
Provide technical inputs during design reviews and support the resolution of project challenges as they arise. Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues promptly and efficiently.
Ensure proper document control processes in coordination with the Document Controller. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company processes.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify problems, assess risks, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions to overcome construction challenges or delays.
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential. He/She should be able to build strong relationships with team members, foster a collaborative work environment, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Stay updated with the latest technologies, regulations, and best practices in shipbuilding. Participate in training and actively seek opportunities for skills enhancement.
Job requirements
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in experience in handling Engineering Projects in the Marine and/or Offshore Industry
Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline Character and Skill
Good Planning and Project Management skills
Good Communication skills (in English) and interpersonal relationships
Knowledge of Shipbuilding or Offshore industry standards and practices
Ability to prepare reports and update key stakeholders on the drawing status and
General understanding of Key Statutory Regulations and Classification Requirements
Good Problem solving and Decision-Making ability.
Good Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Projects and AutoCAD would be required. Familiarity with Aveva Marine software would be desirable but not a mandatory requirement.
Good knowledge of the relevant design documentation that need to be prepared for a Marine/Offshore project covering all disciplines.
