Senior Executive, Cybersecurity (IT GRC)

Job description

In this exciting role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding our organization's data and systems from cyber threats. You will learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will include: 

Governance Framework Development 

  • Assist in the design and implement IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the organization's strategic objectives. 

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. 

  • Hand-on implementation of ISO 27001 and relevant certifications will be an advantage. 

  • Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks and industry standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001). 

 

Process Improvement 

  • Identify gaps in existing IT processes and governance structures and develop action plans to address these deficiencies. 

  • Coordinate IT audits end to end processes with respective IT stakeholders and auditors. 

  • Involve improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT governance operations. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure consistency across the organization. 

 

Risk Management 

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT governance. 

  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of governance and process improvement efforts. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment of IT governance initiatives with business needs. 

  • Provide training and support to staff on IT governance, cybersecurity and process improvement practices. 


Job requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on GRC functions

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Relevant certifications in Cyber Security, such as CISSP, CEH, CRISC, ITIL, would be beneficial.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles.

  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.) is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Candidate with relevant Maritime audits experience will be a plus

  • Passionate about cybersecurity and eagerness to learn and grow in this field.
